Family-Friendly Volunteer Opportunity to Make Bagged Lunches for the Houseless

2021 has made quite the entrance, yet in the midst of the chaos and continued uncertainty, we have a great opportunity to help out our fellow Portlanders by making sack lunches for guests of Blanchet House in downtown Portland!  These simple, bagged lunches contain a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and a purchased wrapped snack, and they allow Blanchet House to provide nutritious “to go” meals to their guests. And while we can’t say that we’ve missed packing lunches for our kiddos during distanced learning, we’re willing to flex those lunch-packing muscles once again if it brings a little joy to those in need.

As a community, we’re scheduled to deliver 100 to 200 lunches the morning of Saturday, 1/23.  If you’d like to get involved, please volunteer to make 10 lunches via the attached Sign-up Genius
Pease look here for specific lunch-making instructions.

On Friday, 1/22, JT Nies will swing by and pick up your family’s contribution at your house (she will give a heads up when en route and keep it contact free!).

We hope you’ll join us in making these simple lunches because if you’re anything like us right now, we’ll take all the positive distractions we can find!  🤣
